DE LA SALLE HIGH SCHOOL will induct Bernard Fernandez ’65, William Farrell (’73) and Paul Kelly (’83) into its Sports Hall of Fame Oct. 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the CAVS Center at De La Salle, 5300 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans. This will be the 25th class of inductees. Fernandez, a former sports writer for the Philadelphia Daily News, won the Nat Fleischer Award from the Boxing Writers Association of America in 1998 for career excellence in boxing journalism. Farrell was a pioneer in barefoot water skiing and won the senior men’s world title in 2001. Kelly, De La Salle’s president, was named Clarion Herald basketball coach of the year three times. He had a 10-year record of 221-84, with seven 20-win seasons, at De La Salle. LOYOLA UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION has announced its 2024-25 Alumni Association Board of Directors.
