Archbishop Checchio will consecrate the Archdiocese of New Orleans to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Louis Cathedral on Sunday, June 14. This act of consecration continues a long and beautiful tradition in our local Church.

During the audience with the Holy Father, Archbishop Checchio presented Pope Leo with a Spiritual Bouquet from the priests, deacons and Catholic school students of the Archdiocese of New Orleans that totaled tens of thousands of hours of prayer for Pope Leo and his intentions over the upcoming year. 2026 Blue Mass
Let us pray in thanksgiving for our first responders and for their safety in the line of duty.
On March 8, Archbishop Checchio celebrated the annual Blue Mass honoring Jefferson Parish first responders: police, fire department, EMTs, and all those who work every day to keep the community safe. Special thanks to the St. Catherine of Siena Knights of Columbus for coordinating the Mass.
1000 catholic youth gathered for a special opportunity to hear fr. mike schmitz
One thousand youth, young adults and seminarians gathered at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Jan. 17 for a morning of Eucharistic Adoration, confession and to hear Father Mike Schmitz speak. Coadjutor Archbishop James Checchio, Archbishop Gregory Aymond and Archbishop Alfred Hughes along with 17 priests heard confession during adoration. The event was sponsored in coordination with Louisiana Right to Life, Regnum Christi and Archdiocese of New Orleans CYO and Young Adult Office.
