SMA students learn government

Nine St. Mary’s Academy students involved with the Dryades YMCA Youth and Government Program were among 550 students from around Louisiana to visit Baton Rouge for three days to learn about the nation’s democratic traditions. Leadership training, public speaking, critical-writing workshops, community activism and academic enhancement through the development of research, reading, speaking and writing skills were part of the conference.
