According to the Vatican, 35 archbishops from 19 countries who were named over the past 12 months received the palliums. Four of them were from the United States: Archbishop Mark S. Rivituso of Mobile, Alabama; Archbishop Ronald A. Hicks of New York; Archbishop James R. Golka of Denver; and Archbishop James F. Checchio of New Orleans.

For years a statue of Our Lady of Prompt Succor has stood in an alcove to the left of the altar of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington. Standing approximately 5 ½ feet tall, the statue, which was donated by St. Teresa Church in New Orleans, received an upgrade on May 31 during the parish anniversary celebration thanks to a dedicated parishioner with a particular devotion to Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
